Odisha: Ministerial panel to submit report on raw material supply to local industries

Bhubaneswar:

The
ministerial panel on raw material supply to state based industries will submit
its report to the Chief Minister today. As per sources, the panel members-
finance Minister Prasanna Acharya, steel and mines Minister Rajnikant Singh and
Industries Minister Niranjan Pujari are scheduled to meet the Chief Minister, Naveen Pattnaik at 5.30 in the afternoon and will submit the report.

The tenure of
the three member ministerial panel has already expired on 15th of
this month. The state government has constituted the panel to formulate a
suitable policy for supply of raw materials to the state based industries last
year and the original tenure of the panel was till 31st of January,
but it was extended several times later.

The recommendations
the panel is expected to be sent for the cabinet approval and may be presented
in the coming Monsoon Session of the state Assembly.

As
per the sources the panel in its report has finalized a policy for raw material
supply to the mineral based industries operating in the state.  Not only had the small and medium mineral
based units, larger projects like Vedanta Alumina are eagerly waiting for the
project.
