Odisha Iron Ore Production Up in Q3 FY16

Odisha iron ore production moved up by around 14% Q-o-Q to 18.88 MnT in Q3 FY16. In previous quarter of this fiscal Odisha produced 16.56 MnT iron ore.

In FY16, (till Dec’15) iron ore production in Odisha stood at 50.69 MnT. Among the merchant miners, Rungta Mines remains the largest iron ore producer at 12.50 MnT followed by Serajuddin Mines (7.88 MnT ), Indrani Patnaik (3.17 MnT) and KJS Ahluwalia (2.67 MnT).

OMC’s iron ore production stood at 2.25 MnT during the period Apr’15-Dec’15 Among the captive iron ore producers-Tata Steel produced 6.76 MnT iron ore from its Odisha mines.

India’s largest iron ore producing state-Odisha produced 63.19 MnT iron ore in CY15(Jan’15-Dec’15).

Odisha monthly iron ore production down in Dec’15

Odisha’s iron ore production reduced by around 10% M-o-M and stood at 5.23 MnT in Dec’15. Rungta and Serajuddin Mines registered fall in production last month. On the other hand iron ore production figures of KJS Ahluwalia, OMC, KN Ram and Essel Mining & Industries have increased against Nov’15.
