Odisha – India’s largest iron ore producing state has witnessed a hike of 8% M-o-M in its production in Oct’17. Iron ore production stood at 8.10 MnT in Oct’17 as against 7.49 MnT in Sept’17.
The production for Apr–Oct’17 stood at 54.7 MnT thereby showing an increase of 8% as compared to same period previous year.
Rungta Mines – India’s largest private merchant miner’s production was up 8% in Oct and stood at 2.07 MnT as against 1.91 MnT in Sept’17. The second largest production was recorded by Tata Steel at 1.05 MnT, up 11% in Oct’17 as against 0.95 MnT in Sept’17.
Production of other major miners were as follows: Serajuddin Mines (0.85 MnT, up 35% M-o-M); SAIL (0.66 MnT, up 8%); KJS Ahluwalia (0.61 MnT, down 20% M-o-M).
Iron ore production of state owned miner – OMC increased four-fold in Oct’17 to 0.11 MnT.
