India: Odisha Iron Ore Dispatches Up 11% in Nov’17

Iron ore dispatches from Serajuddin Mines increased sharply by 46% M-o-M

Odisha, India’s largest iron ore producing state recorded an increase of 11% in iron Ore dispatches in Nov’17 from 5.39 MnT in Oct’17 to 5.96 MnT in Nov’17. The Y-o-Y dispatches recorded a marginal increase of 1% in Nov’17 as against 5.89 MnT in Nov’16. The figures exclude movement for export and dispatches of captive miner- SAIL & Tata Steel.

During the first eight months of FY’18 (Apr-Nov), Odisha recorded an increase of 15% in iron ore dispatches to 46.83 MnT as against 40.88 MnT in the same period last year FY’17.

Among Odisha’s merchant iron ore miners – Rungta Mines dispatched highest quantity of ore 1.49 MnT followed by Serajuddin 0.92 MnT and KJS Ahluwalia 0.60 MnT.

Rungta Mines – India’s largest private merchant miner’s, dispatches recorded an increase of 4% to 1.49 MnT in Nov’17 as compared to Oct’17 which was at 1.44 MnT.

Serajuddin Mines witnessed an increase of 47% M-o-M in iron ore dispatches in Nov’17 at 0.92 MnT as against 0.63 MnT in Oct’17. However, KJS Ahluwalia recorded a decline of 10% M-o-M in Nov’17 to 0.60 MnT as against 0.67 MnT in Oct’17.

Iron ore dispatches from state owned miner- OMC were recorded at 0.55 MnT in Nov’17, an increase of 33% M-o-M as against 0.41 MnT in Oct’17.
