Odisha: Iron Ore Dispatches Stable in June’19

Odisha- India’s largest iron ore producing state recorded total iron ore dispatches at 7.74 MnT in June’19, as against 7.65 MnT in May’19. The figures exclude movement for export and dispatches of miners- SAIL & Tata Steel.

Rungta Mines, India’s largest private merchant miner, dispatched the iron ore at 1.68 MnT in June’19. The dispatch recorded 16% rise as against 1.46 MnT in May’19. Serajuddin mine recorded iron ore dispatches at 1.13 MnT in June’19, up 19% against 0.95 MnT in May’19. Serajuddin mine produces around 10 MnT iron ore annually and has an EC limit of 15.15 MnT p.a.

OMC, state-owned miner recorded 10% drop in dispatches to 0.82 MnT as against 0.92 MnT in May’19.

RP Sao, Kaypee Enterprises and AMTC recorded increase in monthly dispatches at 0.80 MnT, 0.55 MnT, and 0.35 MnT respectively.

Odisha merchant miners kept iron ore prices unchanged in June after receiving decent bookings at the beginning of Jun’19. On the other side, India’s domestic sponge and billet prices plunged amid weak market fundamentals.
