According to data maintained with SteelMint, iron ore dispatches from Odisha were recorded at 5.53 MnT in May’16 (excluding captive iron ore movement of SAIL & Tata Steel). The figure is stable on monthly premises. Dispatches were assessed at 5.52 MnT in Apr’16.
Odisha based plants sourced 1.75 MnT iron ore – In May’16, Odisha based units procured 1.75 MnT iron ore against 1.93 MnT in Apr’16. Major buyers were Bhushan Power & Steel, Bhushan Steel & BRPL
C.G. based units sourcing from Odisha up by 12% in May’16 – Chhattisgarh based units raised their procurement from Odisha in May’16 by 12% M-o-M. They sourced 1.57 MnT ore in May’16 compared to 1.40 MnT in Apr’16. Major parties were Jindal Steel & Power, Monnet Ispat & Energy and MSP Steel & Power.
Chhattisgarh based units sourced 0.24 MnT iron ore from NMDC Bailadila mines via 62 rakes in May’16.
West Bengal based units sourced 1.19 MnT iron ore in May’16 – Sourcing by West Bengal based units remained mostly stable. Iron ore dispatches from Odisha to West Bengal based units were recorded at 1.19 MnT in May’16 against 1.17 MnT in Apr’16. Prominent buyers were Electrosteel Steels, Rashmi Metaliks and Jai Balaji Industries.
