On 07 Mar’17, government of Odisha invited tenders for the purposes of grant of Mining Lease 3 mineral blocks. Out of which 2 blocks were of Iron ore and 1 block of Limestone. As per the recent update, state govt. has extended the date of sale of tender document which was earlier 12 Apr’17 to 28 Apr’17.
Both the iron ore blocks that are put under auction – Netrabandha Pahar iron ore block and Kalamang west block (northern part) are located in Koira region of Odisha. It is to be noted that the govt. of Odisha reserves Kalamang West (Northern Part) Iron Ore block for Specified End Use.
Netrabandha Pahar iron ore block has total geological resources of 77.259 MnT with high grade cut off Fe 55% and low grade cut off at Fe 45-55%. The block is spread across concession area of 139.223 Ha.
Kalamang west iron ore block has total geological resources of 92.97 MnT with high grade cut off of Fe 62% and low grade cut off at Fe 50%. It is spread across concession area of 92.87 Ha.
