Odisha government likely to take decision on KIOCL proposal today

The state government is scheduled to hold discussions
with the top authorities of KIOCL regarding the latter’s proposal to set up a
benefication and Pelletisation plant jointly with Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).

CMD of KIOCL, Malaya Chatterjee is expected to attend the meeting, which is to
be held at 3 pm.

On
Nov 26, Mr Chatterjee met the Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Pattnaik and had a
detailed discussion on the company’s investment proposals in the state.

KIOCL, a state owned Pellet manufacturer with an annual production capacity of 3.5 mtpa, is facing an acute crisis regarding iron ore availability in Karnataka.
