Odisha Chrome Ore Dispatches Increases by 16% in Mar’18

Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have increased by around 16% in Mar’18 against Feb’18.

Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. TATA Steel, being, one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 146,177 MT of chrome ore in Mar’18 against 111,171 MT in Feb’18. The company has witnessed a substantial increase of about 31% in the dispatch of the commodity on M-o-M basis. TATA Steel held 21,336 MT for captive consumption in Mar’18, which is 12% higher to what it was in Feb’18.

OMC also recorded an increase of 13% M-o-M in its Mar’18 Chrome Ore dispatches. OMC dispatched 98,378 MT of Chrome Ore in Mar’18 against 87,397 MT in Feb’18. B.C. Mohanty & Sons also registered an increase of 19% while Saurabhil Chromite Mines witnessed a substantial fall of 21% on M-o-M basis in Mar’18.
