Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have decreased by around 6% in Jan’18 against Dec’17.
Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. TATA Steel, being, one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 109,319 MT of chrome ore in Jan’18 against 119,184 MT in Dec’17. The company has witnessed a decrease of about 8% in the dispatch of the commodity on M-o-M basis. TATA Steel held 14,713 MT for captive consumption in Jan’18, which is 19% lower to what it was in Dec’17.
OMC also recorded a substantial decrease of 12% M-o-M in its Jan’18 Chrome Ore dispatches. OMC dispatched 116,396 MT of Chrome Ore in Jan’18 against 131,604 MT in Dec’17. Saurabhil Chromite Mines also registered a marginal decrease of 8% while B.C. Mohanty & Sons witnessed a whopping increase of 141% on M-o-M basis in Jan’18.
