Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have decreased by around 10% in Feb’18 against Jan’18.
Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. TATA Steel, being, one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 111,171 MT of chrome ore in Feb’18 against 109,319 MT in Jan’18. The company has witnessed a marginal increase of about 2% in the dispatch of the commodity on M-o-M basis. TATA Steel held 15,604 MT for captive consumption in Feb’18, which is 30% lower to what it was in Jan’18.
OMC also recorded a substantial decrease of 25% M-o-M in its Feb’18 Chrome Ore dispatches. OMC dispatched 87,397 MT of Chrome Ore in Feb’18 against 116,396 MT in Jan’18. Saurabhil Chromite Mines also registered a decrease of 15% while B.C. Mohanty & Sons witnessed a marginal fall of 5% on M-o-M basis in Feb’18.
