NMDC's next e-auction of Iron ore in Karnataka is scheduled
on October 14. Commenting on this Mr. Rana Som, chairman of NMDC said, “The company is aiming to sell 1 million metric tonne per annum (MTPA) of iron
ore on the day. We have already started delivering material from our Donimalai
mines to the successful bidders of e-auction.”
Near about 200,000 tonne of iron ore; lumps and fines
together were sold on the last auctions held on October 4. The target for the
next auctions on October 14 has been hiked to 10 lakh tonne or one million
tonne.
About 80% to 82% of NMDC's total revenue comes from its
mines in Chhattisgarh and the remaining 18% comes from Donimalai and e-auction
is aimed at giving better realization to the company.
