- Movement for exports continues to remain nil for 3rd consecutive month
- Sourcing from within state-based units increased 16% on monthly basis.
India’s largest iron ore miner, NMDC supplied 316 rakes of iron ore in Jun’18, in line with May’18 at 319 rakes.
NMDC (C.G) has kept prices unchanged, i.e in line with previous month prices. In last week of May’18 NMDC, Chhattisgarh increased prices by INR 100-170/MT.
Procurement by C.G. based unit’s increased 16% M-o-M in June’18:-
Procurement of NMDC iron ore by Chhattisgarh based units increased to 50 rakes in June’18 as against 43 rakes in May’18 by units within the state. However, from last few month procurements has been towards the lower side as CG based units usually procure 65-70 rakes of iron ore every month from NMDC, Chhattisgarh.
Procurement by outside C.G based units declined 4% M-o-M:
The procurement by units outside C.G has dropped by 4% M-o-M to 266 rakes in June’18 as against 276 rakes in May’18.
RINL has depicted decline in procurement from NMDC Bailadila mines for second consecutive month by 11% in June’18 at 155 rakes as against being 174 rakes a month before.
JSW Steel (Dolvi) sourcing from NMDC decreased by 6% in June’18 to 48 rakes as against 51 rakes in May’18, as the company is shifting to imports to fulfill its demand.
KIOCL has increased its sourcing sharply by 27% to 57 rakes in June’18 compared to 45 iron ore rakes from NMDC in May’18.
Movement for exports recorded nil for third consecutive month:
No movement for iron ore exports reported in June’18. NMDC iron ore exports have depicted nil for third consecutive month since Apr’18.
Iron ore exported by NMDC under MMTC under Long-Term Agreement was subject to an export duty of 10% which expired on 31 Mar’18. There has been no update regarding duty structure till date.
