NMDC Increases Base Price of Iron Ore Fines in Karnataka Auctions

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has raised iron ore fines base prices in Karnataka e-auctions to be held in Dec’16.

In the advance e-auction conducted on 03 Dec’16) by NMDC Donimalai mines, iron ore fines base prices moved up by about INR 80/MT on monthly premises. However base prices of lump continue to remain unmoved.

Base prices of fines (Fe 60.2%) moved up to INR 1,980/MT. In Nov’16 e-auctions, the same material was base priced at INR 1,899/MT. On similar lines, base price of low grade fines (Fe 58%) is presently at INR 1,750/MT which was observed at INR 1,679/MT in Oct’16 e-auctions.

On the other side, base prices of lump (Fe 62.2%) continues to remain stable at INR 2,286/MT.

It is to be noted that NMDC has increased prices of Baila fines (Fe 64%) in its Chhattisgarh mines by INR 100/MT M-o-M w.e.f 29 Nov’16. The miner had raised prices on the backdrop of sharp hike in global iron ore prices.
