NMDC has supplied a total of 378 rakes (1.46 MnT) of iron ore in the month of Mar’20, down 5% against 399 rakes (1.54 MnT) a month before in Feb’20, according to railway movement data maintained with SteelMint. State-based steel plants decreased iron ore sourcing from NMDC (C.G.) to 11 rakes (equivalent to 42,350 MT) in Mar’20 against 17 rakes (65,450 MT) in Feb’20 (This does not include movement through road).
However, the miner had marginally decreased the prices as on 14th Mar’20 by INR 50/MT in fines and lumps, and DR CLO by INR 60/MT.
NMDC’s supplies to outside state-based units increased marginally in Mar’20:
The procurement by outside C.G based units increased for the month recorded rise by 4% in Mar’20 to 332 rakes (1.28 MnT) as compared to 319 rakes (about 1.23 MnT), a month ago.
KIOCL sourcing from NMDC (C.G) has dropped by 23% to 30 rakes in Mar’20 as against 39 rakes in Feb’20.
RINL’s procurement from NMDC Bailadila mines dropped to 182 rakes as compared to Feb’20 procurement at 186 rakes.
JSW Steel (Dolvi) sourcing from NMDC picked up sharply by 56% to 103 rakes in Mar’20 against 66 rakes in Feb’20.
Movement for exports fell by 44% to 35 rakes against 63 rakes in Feb’20.
NMDC on 24th Mar’20 had suspended its iron ore operations (both iron ore production and dispatches) from Bacheli and Kirandul due to lockdown. However, the miner resumed operation on 26th Mar’20.
