Trade statistics released by the European Union shows that Netherlands iron ore imports moved up by 9% in Sept’16.
In Sept’16, the country imported 2.62 MnT iron ore as compared to 2.41 MnT in Aug’16. However, on Y-o-Y basis, iron ore imports moved up by 22% as compared to 2.15 MnT in Sept’15.
In the first nine months of 2016, the country imported 23.26 MnT iron ore, down by 6% as it was 24.77 MnT in the same period last year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) imports in Sept’16 was registered at 2.20 MnT, increased by 17% over the previous month as it was 1.88 MnT in Aug’16. The country imported 1.55 MnT non-agglomerated ore in Sept’15.
The agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrates) imports in Sept’16 was registered at 0.42 MnT against 0.53 MnT in Aug’16. However, on Y-o-Y basis, the country’s agglomerated imports dropped down by 30% as it was 0.60 MnT in Sept’15.
