Nepal: Wire rod imports plunge 17%, m-o-m, in Nov’21

Nepal’s wire rod imports stood at 16,400 t in Nov’21, a decline of 17.6% m-o-m. However, imports rose by 36.8% y-o-y to 232,350 t in Jan-Nov’21.

The country’s finished steel imports remain low owing to weak domestic demand even during the current favourable season for construction activities.

Also, the imports fell due to limited allocation by the primary Indian mills due to better domestic realizations.
