Nepal imports of semi-finished steel (billet and sponge iron) have plummeted by 27.25% m-o-m in Aug ’20 to 63,840 t as against 87,754 t in the previous month. India stood as the only exporter of semi-finished steel to Nepal in Aug. Indian mills have lowered export allocations on improved domestic prices and demand recovery. Also, demand from Nepal remained limited on slow construction activities.
