  • Nepal rebar falls on subdued demand
  • Steel imports fluctuate, semi-finished surges

Nepal’s rebar prices declined by NPR 1,000/t ($7/t) m-o-m in November 2025, settling at NPR 72,500-74,500/t ($510-524/t) for cash guarantee sales and NPR 74,500-76,500/t ($524-538/t) for bank guarantee sales. The downturn was due to subdued demand and political disruptions caused by the recent Gen Z-led protests.

Imported wire rod, sponge iron offers

Offers for imported Indian wire rod coils (WRCs) via the EAF/IF route were assessed at $450-460/t exw-Durgapur, registering a $12/t m-o-m decline reflecting subdued buying interest.

India’s sponge iron export offers to Nepal eased by $5/t m-o-m to $306/t CPT Raxaul, reflecting persistent demand weakness.
