- Offers for wire rod coils from India drop w-o-w
- India’s sponge iron export offers dip $7/t w-o-w
Nepal’s rebar offers remained range-bound w-o-w, hovering at around NPR 86,000-87,000/t ($628-635/t) for cash guarantees and NPR 88,000-89,000/t ($642-649/t) for bank guarantees on payment. The trend could be attributed to sluggish domestic demand.
Imported sponge iron, steel offers
Offers for EAF/IF-route wire rod coils (WRCs) imported from India dropped by $45/t w-o-w to $490-500/t exw-Durgapur as compared to $535/t a week ago amid a recent deal. A deal of around 5,400 tonnes (t) has been heard concluded at similar price levels. Moreover, offers for WRCs from the BF-based steel producers declined by $30/t w-o-w to $550/t exw. This decline in offers is following the drop in raw material prices.
India’s sponge iron export offers to Nepal dropped by $7/t w-o-w to $339/t CPT Raxaul, respectively, as per BigMint’s weekly assessment. Limited buying led to a price correction, but despite the drop, inquiries remained limited.
