Billet imports in Nepal rose to 85,600 t in Oct’20 against 68,845 in Sep’20, up 24.34%. Imports rallied as mills are restocking material ahead demand recovery expected in Nov’20. In addition, stability in offers resulted in a surge in imports. Also, on y-o-y, imports gained by 61.14% compared to 53,100 t in Oct’19. The country’s wire rod imports increased to 27,100 in Oct’20 against 10,600 in Sep’19 & 24,000 t in Oct’19.
