Neelanchal Ispat, a state owned pig iron manufacturer based in Cuttack (Ordisha) kept its steel grade pig iron prices unchanged at Rs 25,500 per tonne (Ex-Works).
Looking at demand, prices have been kept same where as private pig iron manufactures at Durgapur lowered their prices by Rs 500/t to Rs 26,500/t (Ex Works) for steel grade, said market sources.
Pig iron prices at Rourkela, Jharsugda and Raipur remained unchanged at Rs 26,200, 26,000 and 28,100 per tonne (Ex-Works) respectively.
Looking at critical supply of iron ore, industry experts do not expect any major fall in pig iron prices.
