India- JSW Long Steel Production Increases by 15% in FY17

JSW limited has registered a remarkable production growth of about 25% in financial year 2016-2017. In which, long steel production increased by around 15% and flat steel by 28%, as per company reports.

Out of total production of 15.8 MnT crude steel in FY17 (Apr’16-Mar’17), 3.06 MnT was in the form of long steel and 9.9 MnT was in form of flat steel .JSW steel is India’s largest steel producer followed by SAIL and TATA. JSW steel has annual crude steel capacity of 18.0 MnT.

India’s total long steel production increased by 6% in FY17 and recorded at 35.03 MnT according to ministry of steel. Out of which 11.5 MnT was produced by large steel makers and 23.5 MnT was by small and medium steel plants.

JSW steel has reported significant increase in steel exports in FY17. According to company reports, exports increased 153 % to 3.80 MnT in FY17 against 1.5 MnT in FY16.
