Over 500 workers at Jindal Group’s Moatize coal mine in Mozambique have been on strike for a week, demanding compensation from Vulcan Mineral. The striking workers that make up 10% of the 5,300-strong workforce have disrupted mining activity. The mine produces 11.3 mnt of coal per annum. In 2020, the company had revised plans to raise capacity to 15 mnt per annum.
