Mongolia: Coal exports rise 15% m-o-m in Jan’22

Mongolian coal exports in Jan’22 spiked 15% m-o-m to 0.62 mnt on rising coal demand. China accounted for the highest share of coal imports from Mongolia last month at 0.58 mnt, CoalMint data showed. However, on a y-o-y basis, total coal exports from Mongolia fell drastically by 75%. The Covid-related restrictions continued to hamper coal exports from the country.
