Mongolia’s coal exports in the first half of 2022 stood at 8.08 mnt, a fall of 13% y-o-y. China is the key importing destination, attributing to 90% of Mongolia’s total exports. The resurgence in Covid cases and stricter customs clearance at the border crossing resulted in the drop in exports.
