MMTC had invited interested overseas buyers for purchase of 10,000 MT Friable Chrome Ore (50/48% Cr) of Indian origin through its export tender for August shipment. The material has been offered by Misrilall Mines Pvt. Ltd., Paradip Port basis.
The last Date for submission of tender was 03 Aug’16. However, the company has decided to withdraw the tender and a meeting is scheduled for 2 Aug’16, when a decision on the next course of action is expected to be taken.
Earlier, under pressure from the protesting Ferro Chrome producers – export duty on Chrome ore was re-imposed at 30%, after it was waived off in the 2017 Budget. This has severly impacted the Indian Chrome Ore export market, as realizations are much lower now.
The last Indian Friable Chrome Ore export tender was concluded in April’16 at USD 187/MT FOB Paradip port.
Another 45,000 MT Chrome Concentrate export tender in pipeline
MMTC has invited interested overseas buyers for the purchase of 45,000 MT Chrome concentrate (50/48% Cr) of Indian origin through its export tender for August shipment.
The material has been offered by Tata Steel and the last date for submission of bids is 01 Aug’16.
