MMTC Issues Global Tender for 35,000 MT Chrome Concentrate Export

Metal & Mineral Trading Corporation (MMTC), one of the major global players in the minerals trade and single largest exporter of minerals from India.

The company had invited interested overseas buyers for purchase of35,000 MT Chrome concentrate (50/48% Cr) of Indian origin through its export tender for July shipment.

The material has been offered by Tata Steel. Also, bidders should quote prices in USD/MT FOB Paradip Port basis.

The last date for submission of the tender will be 04 Jul’16 at 11.00 hrs and technical and price bid will open on the same day at 11.15 hrs and 16.00 hrs respectively.

MMTC withdraws previous two Chrome ore export tenders

The company withdrew last two export tender for 40,000 MT Chrome ore and 40,000 MT Chrome concentrate export with scheduled technical bids to close on 03 June’16 and 02 June’16 respectively.

The company had canceled both the tender. This decision has mostly come in with the re-imposition of export duty on chrome ore and concentrate. Indian government waived off 30% export duty on Chrome ore in 2017 Budget but after protest from Ferroalloy producers, it was re-imposed to 30%.

However, previous to that, the company concluded a chrome ore export tender of 20,000 MT at USD 189/MT FOB Paradip port according to sources.
