MMTC which had floated a tender of exports of 30,000 MT pig iron last month has failed to get response ever after it re-tendered it. Maximum bids of $408-410 FOB Vizag were fetched in last tender.
“Export bids were much lower from what we are selling to domestic mills. It will not make any sense to sell at such low levels.” said an official.
Current pig iron prices in domestic market are around $435-440/t (Ex-Works).
