Met coke imports into India were around 2.9% higher in Jun’16 over that in May’16.
According to SteelMint Research, 0.35 MnT of Met coke was imported into the country during Jun’16. During May’16, the import quantity was lower at 0.34 MnT, according to SteelMint Research.

The meager rise in the imports during Jun’16 could be attributed to stronger buying sentiments inflicted by lower import offers.
Out of the total import quantity during the month, imports from China accounted for the largest share, followed by other regions of import.
Among the various ports in the country, the Mangalore port had handled the largest volume of imports, followed by the Mormugao and Haldia ports.

During the first quarter of the current fiscal, 1.08 MnT of Met coke was imported into the country.
