Met coke imports into India during July’16 were around 34% lower than the imports in Jun’16.
According to the data compiled by SteelMint Research, 0.23 MnT of Met coke was imported into the country in July’16 against 0.35 MnT imported in Jun’16.

Low demand due to the ongoing rainy season was primarily responsible for the contraction in the import volume.
During the month under review, the largest volume of imports came from China, followed by that from Australia.

Among the ports in the country, the Paradip port had handled the maximum import consignments during the month.
