Met Coke prices in India have continued to be under the influence of the pressure of the high Coking Coal prices.
The latest import offer of the 64% CSR Met Coke is assessed higher at USD 336/MT CFR India. Similarly, the recent import offer of the 62% CSR Met Coke is also assessed upwards at USD 333/MT CFR India.
Chinese sellers have quoted these export offers at: USD 326/MT and USD 322/MT respectively on FoB China basis.
While, in India producers in the west coast have kept their ex-works prices unchanged, some producers in the east coast have raised their ex-works prices.
The prevailing ex-works prices of the Blast Furnace grade in the country are: INR 22,500/MT(east coast) and INR 23,500-26,500/MT(west coast).

IMPORTS
High import offers have somewhat retarded the imports into India. During the 1-14 Nov’16 period, 173,980 MT of Met Coke was imported into India, according to data compiled by CoalMint Research.
