Australian iron ore exports fell by 1.2% y-o-y in CY’19 primarily due to impact of the cyclone in Mar’19 which led to a number of major miners reducing the production guidance for the year.
Brazil iron ore export fell by 12.7% in CY’19 due to Vale’s Brumadinho dam disaster in Jan’19. Indian iron ore exports surged 79.3% as Odisha miners raised production before expiry of mining leases and increased low grade fines exports to China.
