SteelMint has confirmed over 5,000 t of sponge iron (FeM 80%, lumps 100%) export deals to Bangladesh, which were almost nil since mid-Aug’21. The average price of the deals has been reported at around $450/t CPT Benapole, equivalent to $480-485/t CFR Chittagong, Bangladesh. SteelMint’s benchmark export price assessment dropped to $450/t as against $460-465/t last week, CPT Benapole.
In addition, two rakes of sponge iron (FeM 80%, mix of lumps/fines 70:30) export deals were reported to Nepal at an average price of $415/t loaded on to rake, eastern India, equivalent to $440/t CPT Nepal.
