The Bander coal mine in Chandrapur district has been withdrawn from the list of 41 blocks put up for auction by the Coal Ministry. As per the notification dated 21 Jul’20, Bander is a part of the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve – an ecologically sensitive zone. It has geological reserve of 126.1 mn t and tentative peak rated capacity of 2 mn t per annum.
