Majority of Indian states are in lockdown which has dented steel demand in the country by around 23% in Apr’21 m-o-m.
The majority of states, including Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Assam, have extended their lockdowns till 31 May’21 and only essential services are being allowed.
In such a scenario, steel demand has been impacted severely in the last couple of weeks.
