LME suspends nickel trading due to extreme price volatility

  • London Metal Exchange (LME) has suspended nickel trading for the day due to unprecedented price hikes.
  • LME has decided to suspend the trading of nickel contracts on all venues as of 1:45 PM (Indian Time) 8 Mar’22 due to an unprecedented overnight rise in the three-month nickel contract prices.
  • “Trading will be disabled in LMEselect, and nickel trading will not be permitted on the Ring”, as per the notice.
