KOMIPO to purchase Steam Coal for Korean Gencos

Korea Midland Power Company Limited (KOMIPO) is inviting bid for purchase of Steam Coal for its Korean Gencos Power plants on FOBT basis.

KOMIPO, on the behalf of its various subsidiaries namely KOSEP, KOWEPO, KOSPO and EWP, has floated a tender for purchase of 1,000,000 MT Steam Coal for its various plants. In addition, the quantity of bituminous Coal should be 640,000 MT and sub-bitumious Coal should be 360,000 MT.

Bidders selling Russian Coal is not eligible to participate.

Eligibility

  • Supplied Coal should be from single mines. Shipment of Coal from more than one mine shall not be considered
  • Bidders should offer the quantity in lots of 70,000-80,000 MT or 110,000-140,000 MT on FOBT basis only
  • Coal producers, marketing companies and traders having past record of supplying more than 60,000 MT to KOSEP, KOMIPO, KOWEPO, KOSPO, KEWESPO etc are eligible to participate

  • Gross Calorific Value (NAR): 5,700 Kcal/Kg min
  • Total Moisture (ARB): 15 % max
  • Ash (Air Dried):  17% max
  • Volatile Matter (Air Dried): 22-38 max
  • Fixed Carbon (Air Dried): 60% max

Sub-bituminous Coal

  • Gross Calorific Value (NAR): 4,600 Kcal/Kg min
  • Total Moisture (ARB): 28% max
  • Ash (Air Dried):  10 % max
  • Volatile Matter (Air Dried): 22-45 max
  • Fixed Carbon (Air Dried): 60% max

Price: One single fixed price based on FOBT only

Unloading Port: Coal shall be discharged at one of the Korean Power plant’s ports namely Yeonghung, Samcheonpo, Boryeong, Taean, Hadong and Dangjin.

Bid Submission Due Date: 11.00 hrs on 12 Sep, 2014 (Korean Standard Time)

KOMIPO has floated its last tender for purchase of 980,000 MT Sub-bituminous Coal in the month of August, 2014.
