Bhubaneswar: The justice Shah Commission probing into the illegal
mining case has sought more details from the miners before its visit from 27th
of this month.
According to sources, the commission in its letter has directed
119 miners to provide more details by 1st of March.
Among others the commission has specifically asked to furnish
details on the status of the mines since the grant of first lease, what is the
average annual production and despatch of minerals, its value, how much mineral
sold in the domestic market and how much exported etc?
Apart from this, details have also been sought on the quantity of
mineral produced without environment clearance, mineral produced and its value
during deemed-to-be renewal period.
Also the commission has asked details on
the boundaries of each mine. It may be noted that, Justice M.B.Shah head of the enquiry
commission is leading the team this time and is scheduled to arrive on 27th
of this month.
The other officials of the panel, including Mr.U.V.Singh are
scheduled to arrive one day before.
This time the panel is expected to hear from as many as 186 iron
ore and other miners.
On behalf of Federation of Indian Mineral Industries
(FIMI) senior Supreme Court lawyer Abhisek Manu Singhvi will present the views
of the miners before Justice Shah.
