JSW Steel today reported a 26% increase in crude steel
production for Q4 FY, 2012.
The company produced 2.07 million tonne crude steel in the
Q4 (Jan-Mar), a growth of 26%.
The company posted 67% increase in production of long
products at 0.47 million tonnes in fourth quarter, 2012 compared to the same
quarter of corresponding year. Output of flat products stood at 1.49 million tonnes
during the fourth quarter i.e. up by 13%.
The company gave the guidance of 8.75 Million tons of crude
steel production in the beginning of FY 2011-12. “In view of scarcity of
Iron ore due to imposition of ban on Iron ore mining in the State of Karnataka
by Honourable Supreme Court, the Company had to scale down its production, thus
actual achievement is only 85% of initial guidance,” said an official
statement on Thursday.
