JSW Steel on Monday reported a 18%
increase in crude steel production for November, 2011 at 6 lakh tonnes on
better capacity utilisation at its Vijaynagar plant.
“The capacity utilization
improved gradually to 68 per cent at Vijaynagar works in November from average utilization
of 63 per cent in October 2011, due to increased receipt of iron-ore supply
from e-auctions,” said the company officials.
“The company so far received 37
per cent iron ore at plant's site out of total iron ore of 5.67 million tonnes
procured in e-auctions,” it added.
The company posted 46% increase
in production of long products at 1.29 lakh tonnes in November, compared to
corresponding month last year. Output of flat products stood at 4.27 lakh tonne
during the month i.e. up by 12% from November 2010.
