JSW Steel’s Q1FY23 production drops 3% due to preponement of planned shutdown

Indian steel giant JSW Steel has reported its crude steel production at 5.72 mnt in Q1FY23, down 3% against 5.88 mnt a quarter ago, as per company’s latest press release. Output was down due to preponement of certain scheduled shutdowns due to low demand. On an annual basis, steel output registered a growth of 16% against 4.94 mnt in Q1FY22.

JSW Ispat Special Products recorded production at 0.11 mnt in Q1FY23, down 37% q-o-q and 25% y-o-y.
