JSW Steel’s captive iron ore production in FY21 was at around 22.06 mn t.Out of the company’s total captive mines, those in Karnataka produced around 5.42 mn t, which is around 24.6% of JSW Steel’s total captive iron ore production. Production from the Odisha mines was at around 16.64 mn t, or 75.4% of the steel major’s total captive production.
It is to be noted that no iron ore mining activity happened in the months of April, May and June 2020 in Odisha by JSW Steel. The company started iron ore mining in July’20,and production was at 16.64 mn t by the end of Mar’21 from Odisha alone. However, in Karnataka, mining had been carried out throughout the year in FY21.
