The steel maker has recorded crude steel output of 14.36 MnT during Apr-Feb’17, up 27% Y-o-Y.
India’s largest private sector steel making company – JSW Steel has recorded crude steel production of 1.265 MnT last month.
The company in its today’s press release declared that its crude steel production has moved up to 1.265 MnT in Feb’17, by 25% against Feb’16. The steel maker’s crude steel output in Feb’16 was recorded at 1.013 MnT.
However on monthly basis, company’s crude steel output has declined of 9% in Feb’17. In Jan’17, it achieved highest ever monthly crude steel output of 1.385 MnT. Company’s flat steel production grew 23% Y-o-Y and long steel production increased 8% Y-o-Y in Feb’17.

JSW Steel close to achieve its set target for FY17 – In the beginning of FY17, the company had announced that it expects to ramp up crude steel production to 15.75 MnT in FY17 against 12.56 MnT in FY16. So far in this fiscal (till Feb’17) JSW Steel has recorded crude steel output of 14.36 MnT.
It is to be noted that the steel giant has ramped up production after its total installed crude steel capacity was enhanced to 18 MnT pa.
Also the steel maker has recently raised its finished steel exports significantly. As per market sources report to SteelMint, JSW Steel has planned to export 1 MnT steel in Feb-Mar’17.
