JSW reported growth of 8% in crude steel in Q3

JSW Steel Limited reported growth of 8% in crude
steel production at 2.09 million tons for the third quarter ended December
31, 2012 compared to 1.93 million tons in the corresponding quarter last year. Production
of flat rolled products has increased by 13% to reach 1.56 million tons, whereas
production of long products has moved up by 31% to 483,000 tons
during the quarter.

Capacity utilization was lower during the third quarter
compared to the second quarter of this fiscal due to inadequate and poor
quality of iron ore available through e-auction in Karnataka, the company said.

The company has achieved crude steel production of 6.40
million tons in the first nine months of the fiscal showing a growth of 20% over the same period last year.
