JSW Steel – India’s largest steel maker has shown significant increase in its crude steel production by 11% on yearly basis in the month of Nov’17. The company achieved crude steel output of 1.362 MnT in Nov’17 which was at 1.227 MnT in previous year.
However, on monthly basis company’s crude steel production moved up marginally by 1.4% in Nov’17 in comparison to 1.343 MnT in Oct’17.
Long steel output shoot up by 35% Y-o-Y basis – In the month of Nov’17 JSW Steel’s long steel production stood at 0.299 MnT, up by 35% in comparison to 0.221 MnT in Nov’16. Also on monthly basis, JSW Steel’s long steel output shooted up by 16% against 0.258 MnT in Oct’17.
With spurt in Semi finished steel prices offers & improved demand, domestic rebar offers moved up by INR 800-1,600/MT on monthly average basis in Nov’17. Major price rise were reported in Mumbai – West India & Hyderabad -South India for both regions by INR 1,400-1,500/MT.
Flat steel production surged 8% Y-o-Y in Nov’17 – JSW Steel’s flat steel output recorded surge of 8% to 0.959 MnT in Nov’17 which stood at 0.887 MnT in Nov’16. However on monthly basis, company’s flat steel output witnessed marginal decline of 2% against 0.977 MnT in Oct’17.
Flat steel prices in India’s domestic market remained mostly unchanged in Nov’17. Major Indian steel mills had rolled over flat steel prices in Nov’17.
