JSPL to Commence Operations of its New Blast Furnace in Angul Shortly

Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) – one of India’s major steel makers is all set to commence operations at its new blast furnace in Angul (Odisha). With the addition of the new blast furnace, its steel making capacity will be increased to 6 MnT pa. As per market sources, the operations will be commenced in 1st week of May’17.

Presently, JSPL operates a DRI plant of 2 MnT pa capacity along with a steel melting shop (SMS) of 2.5 MnT pa. It is expected that increased output will be majorly come out in the form of plates.

JSPL recorded highest ever production & sales in FY17

JSPL clocked steel production & sales of over 4.8 MnT in last fiscal.

JSPL’s consolidated steel production stood at 1.3 MnT in Q4 FY17 against 1.15 MnT in previous quarter. And its consolidated steel sales stood at 1.34 MnT in Q4 FY17 compared to 1.16 MnT in previous quarter.
