Delhi High Court today allows JSPL to participate in coming coal auction in the area of Chhattisgarh.
On Friday The Delhi High Court said that Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) is eligible to participate in the coal e- auction of Gare Palma blocks situated at Chhattisgarh.
The JSPL won the right to mine coal from the two mines Gare Palma IV/2 and IV/3 as earlier the company had won these blocks in Coal block auctions this year but the government had cancelled the mines as company’s winning bids did not reflect the mines fair value.
Delhi High Court had earlier suggested Coal India to sell the coal to JSPL if it did not have the space to store the coal after mining from these two coal blocks .
A bench of Justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva gave the order after CIL moved an application seeking permission to sell the coal it has started to mine from Gare Palma IV/2 and IV/3 mines after receiving environmental clearance.
CIL had Put Three Options to the Bench
- Sell through fresh e-auction
- Sell it to those companies with whom the public sector unit has a fuel supply agreement
- Sell to National Thermal Power (NTPC)
– Sourced
