Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and JSW Ltd, India's one of primary steel producers have raised their offers effective from January 2013 on rising global prices and improving demand in domestic market.
“We have raised wire rod and re-bar prices by Rs 750/t and Rs 1,000/t respectively and Flat steel prices by Rs 750/t.” said one of the official at JSPL.
TATA steel and SAIL officials refused to comment although sources that they may raise long steel prices but not flat steel.
Current offers for HR coil of 2.5mm across India are in range of Rs 35,000-36,000/t (Ex Works, Basic Prices, Excise extra of 12.36%) where as re-bar prices are in range of Rs 35,000-36,000/t (Ex Works, Basic Prices, Excise extra of 12.36%).
