Japan’s Tokyo Steel hikes scrap purchase price by $ 5/t at Utsunomiya

Tokyo Steel has announced its first hike in scrap purchase price, increasing bids by JPY 500/t ($ 5/t) for Utsunomiya plant in Kanto region and keeping bid prices unchanged for other regions, effective from tomorrow (17 July’20). Now, the company would pay JPY 22,000/t ($ 206) for H2-scrap delivered to Utsunomiya works and JPY 22,500/t to Tahara plant.
